Safety ALRT | Disclaimer

This Disclaimer should be read in conjunction with our [Terms of Use](https://www.safetyalrt.com/termsofuse) and [Privacy Policy](https://www.safetyalrt.com/privacy), which govern your use of the Safety ALRT mobile application and website.

 

By using Safety ALRT, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Disclaimer, our Terms of Use, and our Privacy Policy.

1. No Reliance on Information

The information provided by Safety ALRT Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) via the Safety ALRT mobile application and website is for general informational purposes only.

  • All information is provided in "as is" and "as available" condition.

  • We make no representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, adequacy, validity, reliability, availability, or completeness of any information, hazard alert, or map data within the App.

2. Not an Emergency Service

  • Safety ALRT is NOT an emergency service, a dispatch center, or a replacement for Triple Zero (000). * In any life-threatening or time-critical emergency, you must contact 000 or your local emergency provider immediately.

  • Do not use this App to report emergencies to official authorities.

  • We do not guarantee that emergency services will be notified of any hazard you report through the App.

3. Unofficial Data and Services

Safety ALRT aggregates data from various official sources (including RFS, SES, BOM, and Transport for NSW).

  • Independence: We are an independent entity and are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, these government agencies.

  • Summaries: Summaries or "AI-generated" notifications provided by the App are unofficial interpretations. Users must always refer to the original official source link provided within the alert for authoritative instructions.

4. User- Generated Content (Anonymous Community Reports)

The App allows users to submit anonymous hazard alerts to help their community stay informed.

Important Limitations:

  • We do not verify the accuracy of user-submitted reports before they appear in the App

  • Reports are anonymous to other users

  • You cannot identify who submitted a report

  • Once posted, reports cannot be edited or deleted by the submitter

  • We maintain internal moderation records for safety purposes only

    
Assumption of Risk: You rely on community-submitted alerts entirely at your own risk. We are not responsible for:

  • Hoax reports or deliberately misleading information

  • Honest mistakes or inaccuracies in user observations

  • Delayed moderation or removal of false content

  • Any decisions you make based on unverified user reports

Always cross-reference user reports with official government sources before taking action.

5. Technical Limitations and Notification Delays

We do not guarantee that notifications will be sent or received in real-time. Delivery of alerts can be delayed or fail due to:

  • Network congestion or ISP outages.

  • Mobile operating system restrictions (e.g., "Do Not Disturb" or battery optimization).

  • Accuracy of your device's GPS/location services.

  • Warning: Under no circumstances should you wait for a Safety ALRT notification before evacuating or taking safety precautions during a known hazard event.

6. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee or right you have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).

Subject to the above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Safety ALRT Pty Ltd and its directors, employees, or agents are not liable for any loss, injury, claim, or damage of any kind (including death, personal injury, or property damage) resulting from:

1. Your use of, or inability to use, the Service

2. Any errors or omissions in the content

3. Your reliance on any information provided by the App

4. Any failure of the App to alert you to a nearby hazard

7. "Use at your own risk"

Your use of the Service and your reliance on any information is solely at your own risk.

You are responsible for your own safety and for cross-referencing App data with official government broadcasts (e.g., ABC Local Radio, official agency websites).
